Leader in lubrication solutions Atlas Oil in February announced the launch of its Sustainable Oil Buy-Back Program, in partnership with the nonprofit organisation Rose Foundation.

This initiative aims to promote responsible oil disposal while offering businesses and individuals an environment-friendly way to manage used oil.

As part of Atlas Oil’s commitment to sustainability, the Buy-Back Program encourages customers to return used oil for safe recycling. With improper disposal of oil posing significant environmental risks, this initiative provides a convenient and responsible solution for industries such as mining, transport, agriculture and manufacturing.

Atlas explains that customers can collect used oil in designated containers and can leave these containers at an Atlas Oil collection point. The oil is responsibly processed and recycled through the Rose Foundation, a recognised leader in oil recycling initiatives.

Participants will receive a rebate or discount on future oil purchases, ensuring both environmental and financial benefits.

The company points out that there are numerous benefits, namely environmental responsibility preventing harmful oil pollution in soil and water; cost savings, as customers receive financial incentives for participating; regulatory compliance, which ensures that businesses meet environmental disposal regulations; and the furtherance of a sustainable future, with this initiative supporting South Africa’s drive toward circular economy solutions.

“We are excited to launch this initiative in partnership with the Rose Foundation,” said Atlas Oil business development manager Edwin Fortune. “As a company that prioritises environmental responsibility, we see this as an opportunity to help businesses and individuals dispose of oil safely while reaping financial benefits.”

Atlas Oil invites all businesses and individuals to take part in the Sustainable Oil Buy-Back Program and “contribute to a greener, cleaner future”. Prospective participants can visit the company’s website for more information.
